Gel Pen Border Idea

Supplies Needed:

  • One sheet of 12x12 or 8 1/2 x 11 Black cardstock
  • White Gel Pens
  • White Calligraphy pen (I used a Zig paint pen)
  • Straight Ruler
  • Halloween Corner stickers (I used here Provo Craft "Halloween Corner & Border" stickers 42-034

Instructions:
  1. Take your White gel pen and straight edge ruler and draw a line on all four sides of the cardstock about ¾" in from outer edge of cardstock.
  2. Next, take your white calligraphy tip pen and draw a line on each side of the already drawn line about ¼" from the line on each side so that the thin line is in the center. Repeat all the way around your page.
  3. Add scattered "#" in between the lines you just made. (If you are creative you might even try making tiny spiders instead.)
  4. Next, create the spider webs in the upper corners by taking the white gel pen and draw several straight lines in a fan effect out from the corner about 1" long. Then draw several slight curves connecting each line. Repeat until web is complete.
  5. Add your stickers.
  6. Your page is now ready for pictures and journaling. (Mat pictures using orange or white. If using a double matting, try a black mat next to the picture so you would have Orange, Black and then the picture.)
