Cookie Recipe

Snicker Doodles (recipe #1)

I really like this recipe. I made this one for a Christmas cookie swap and it was an easy and fast recipe to put together and even my little guy enjoyed rolling the cookie balls into the cinnamon sugar and placing them on the cookie sheet.

  • 3 c. all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp. baking powder

  • tsp. salt

  • 1 c. vegetable shortening (butter flavored)

  • 1 1/3 c. sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 3 Tbs. sugar

  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt.

  3. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.

  4. In a small bowl combine the 3 tbs. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon.

  5. Take the dough and make 1-inch round balls. Roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar and then place 1-inch apart on cookie sheet.

  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Makes 4 dozen cookies.

Note: If desired, place a walnut on the top center of each cookie ball before baking.
