Pie Recipe

Flaky Pie Crust


3 cups all-purpose flour

1-1/4 cup Crisco

1 teaspoon salt

5 Tablespoons ice water

1 Egg

1 teaspoon vinegar


  1. Mix by hand flour, Crisco and salt.
  2. Mix Egg, water and vinegar. Adding water a little at a time, until it can be gathered into a ball.
  3. Roll out dough on a floured counter. Don't over work it. Use as directed in pie recipe. It will be very flaky.

Makes 2 pie crusts
